Tutima regatta yacht leads the way to hanseboot 2011
Once again, the 52nd Hamburg International Boat Show had promised spectacular attractions: new designs and all-time classics, product innovations and a hands-on maritime experience – and one very special highlight: the “Tutima Yacht” was the first vessel to arrive at the water sports Mecca in Hamburg on October 20. In a breathtaking maneuver, a crane heaved the racing cruiser into position on the forecourt in front of the main entrance to the show. The 14-meter long and 23-meter high Tutima created a striking first impression throughout the entire event.
The titanium gray yacht is well used to being the center of attention following numerous successes in national and international races. It is sailed by an all-woman crew of 14 World and European Champion contestants under the command of skipper Kirsten Harmstorf.
The yacht is named after the owner Tutima, the German company that originates from the legendary Glashütte and is famous for its instrument watches. Visitors to the boat show could verify the benefits of the Tutima Yachting series at first hand: sporty watches with a regatta start display that was designed specially for yachting pros. Seaworthy performances are nothing new for the watchmaking company: in addition to various other commitments to sailing, Tutima also sponsors the Kieler Woche and was “Official Timekeeper of the Kieler Woche Regattas” for the ninth year in succession in 2013.
