A mutual passion: Tutima Glashütte presents the Flieger Aero Club, an elegant wristwatch that sends a clear message of solidarity in its very name. The Glashütte-based brand has served as chief sponsor of the German Aero Club (DAeC) for many decades. Now this shared passion for airborne sports manifests itself in a timepiece that combines elegant discretion and aeronautical attributes in their most handsome form.
Like its predecessors, this newest member of Tutima Glashütte’s Flieger family embodies reliability, accuracy and longevity. The stainless steel case is pressure-tested to 10 atm. The sapphire crystal in the back of the case offers a clear view of Tutima’s time-honoured automatic Calibre 330, which boasts an attractive gold seal on its rotor.
A second pane of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial, which celebrates purist minimalism in silver white, dark blue or black. Slim tapered hands feature the same bevelled edges as the indexes, a detail which further enhances the dial’s thoroughly harmonious appearance.
The wristbands are available either in robust stainless steel or fine leather, as is traditionally used on classic pilot’s watches. The leather comes from the traditional Horween tannery in the USA. The strap’s straight lines and colour-coordinated crosswise stitching underscore the watch’s sportily elegant look.
