Couture Time Award in Technical Excellence

The coveted award is presented at Couture Time watch and jewelry fair held by Watch Journal: (from left to right) Glen Bowen, publisher of Watch Journal, Alexander Philipp, Tutima Glashütte, and Gustavo A. Calzadilla, CEO Tutima USA.

The members of the jury at Couture Time watch and jewelry fair were all agreed: the award for the most technically convincing timepiece went to Germany this year. The Tutima Hommage Minute Repeater won the Couture Time Award in the Technical Excellence category, leaving all the other contestants far behind.

Alexander Philipp, Sales and Marketing Director, was impressed by the complimentary accolades bestowed by the competent jury: “Fine German watchmaking is becoming increasingly popular in the USA. American watch enthusiasts appreciate not only the design, but in particular the technical expertise.”

Every year, the luxurious Wynn Resort in Las Vegas hosts the Couture Time watch and jewelry fair, where more than 200 manufacturers and brands present their wares in an exclusive setting. More than 4000 trade visitors, mostly representing retailers and distributors, make the most of this opportunity to obtain the latest information, network and place orders. More than 100 accredited trade journalists cover the fair for the international media.

The winners of the coveted Couture Time Awards are decided by a jury of six professionals, made up of journalists specializing in the watch business and the Vice-President of the international watch department of Sotheby’s auction house. The choice of the Tutima Hommage Minute Repeater as an outstanding example of esthetically and technically convincing watch mechanism was unanimous.
